Video security for London transit
One hundred and ninety new trains for Metronet Rail, which will operate on the London Underground’s sub-surface lines (SSL), are to be equipped with a video surveillance system jointly put together by March Networks and Bombardier Transportation. The system will be based on Bombardier’s SEKURFLO transit security technology. March Networks collaborated with Bombardier on the development of the video surveillance component of the system.
The systems will be installed when the trains are built at Bombardier’s facility in Derby, U.K. The first equipped units are scheduled to enter service in 2009.
