Ontario International Airport’s security program has been beefed up with a dedicated radio station

LA launches security radio station

Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has launched a new radio station at Ontario International Airport to provide travellers with airport security information. The station will also broadcast information on terminal and airline locations, parking, ground transportation, services and amenities, as well as offering tips to make travel through the airport easier. It will also be available in the event of a security emergency, when it can be used to alert travellers approaching the airport.

The station is at 770 on the AM dial and will operate 24 hours a day from a studio in the airport’s administration building. The signal can be heard within a radius of several miles around the airport, and signs on roads and freeways alert travellers to the station’s availability.
