E-scooter patented The ‘Zappy3’ line of electric personal transporters has been granted a design patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Manufactured by Zap, based in California (the company name stands for Zero Air Pollution), the Zappy3 is an advanced, three-wheeled version of the Zappy electric scooter the company developed in the 90s. The new line includes two new models rolled out in 2006, including a ‘PRO’ version with a more powerful drive system, which the company says is suitable for security and warehousing applications.
