Houston deploys mobile containment

George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby have become the first airports in the world to deploy mobile threat containment units. Manufactured by Aigis Blast Protection Inc., the explosion-proof units are designed to accommodate passenger carry-on luggage that security screeners deem may contain suspicious or potentially harmful materials. Aigis says that in a matter of seconds, screeners can deposit a suspicious piece of luggage in the mobile units, which can then be moved to a secure area for further examination. The units are now in place at all Transportation Security Administration checkpoints in the airports.
