Brijot weapons detectors in DHS demo... Brijot Imaging Systems' Weapons Detection System (WDS) has been installed at Jersey City's Exchange Place PATH station. The BIJ-WDS Prime system remotely searches passengers for possible explosives and suicide bombs. The installation is part of a two-week DHS field demonstration highlighting new and emerging technologies that detect explosives and other large weapons that can be used in attacks on the transportation systemThe WDS provides full-motion, automated detection of explosives and other weapons hidden beneath clothing. The system uses video surveillance and does not require passengers to stop or enter a portal device, eliminating delays and potential health risks associated with radiation-based systems.
