Asset management for multimodal Asset management software provider RFTrax has introduced the RFTrax Asset Management Platform (AMP) Product Suite. Initially targeted at rail customers, the suite enables users to identify and resolve disruptions in spare parts and finished goods supply chains across multiple transportation modes — rail, truck, barge, ship and container. The AMP suite offers real-time intelligence on such details as delivery, shipment location and conditions.
The company quotes industry analyst Joshua Greenbaum of Emterprise Applications Consutling as saying that launch of the AMP suite comes at a time when the rail freight industry is rebounding, and that it could have the same rejuvenating impact in railroad shipping that improved manufacturing shop floor systems have had on manufacturing efficiency and competitiveness.
