In a test, a 15,000-pound vehicle travelling at 50 mph achieved zero penetration and was completely disabled, while the barrier continued functioning once debris had been removed

Boon Edam Tomsed announces new barriers

Boon Edam Tomsed has announced its new “Road Blockers” range of hydraulically activated anti-vehicle barriers. The K12 crash-tested wedge-shaped barriers deter pedestrian traffic and deliberately have a high-visibility, deterrent profile. They feature automatic raise/lower operation and rest flush with the roadway when lowered.

The range of barriers includes independently certified bollards, road blockers and beams, all of them tested and certified to internationally recognized U.S. Department of State standards to prevent aggressive vehicle intrusion at high-risk sites. The company says that installation requires minimal or no excavation and that units can be installed close to property lines.
