The panomorph lens addresses problems with existing ‘panorama’ surveillance lenses, such as clarity, blind spots, distortion and loss of resolution

“Panomorph” lens to upgrade legacy cameras

ImmerVision has announced an increase in production of its “panomorph” IMV1-1/3 lens, which it says can be added to standard analog and IP video surveillance systems to give them 360-degree coverage. The added coverage, ImmerVision says, has no blind spots and no viewing downtime.

The system comes with software that enables what would otherwise be a highly distorted image to be viewed without distortion. The company believes the system will be especially useful in high-risk locations like airports, transit systems, public buildings and in any large public venues that require surveillance.
