The Airbus A380 will be the largest passenger aircraft ever built and a potential terrorist target
A380 a security stretch?
The Australian government believes that the advent of the Airbus A380 super-sized passenger jet presently badly delayed by construction problems will change the nature of aviation security. The aircraft, which will be capable of carrying upwards of 850 passengers, will alter aviation security by concentrating a larger number of people in one place, thereby creating an even more tempting target for terrorist attack, says Mark Vaile, Australia’s transport minister. “They will put pressure on our passenger facilitation, security and border-control processes."
