• The U.K. security scare in August is set to cost British Airways some US$190 million in cancelled flights, according to media reports.
• A FibroLAN system has been deployed as the fiber-optic backbone for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) surveillance, communications and data networks.
• The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has approved luggage locks from Travel Sentry or Safe Skies. TSA staff have special tools for unlocking them and will relock suitcases after inspection.
