Miami International pushes BPR

All employees at Miami International Airport (MIA) are slated to undergo behavior pattern recognition (BPR) training. The training is the first to be conducted at any U.S. airport, and will be conducted by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD).

The technique identifies suspicious behavior and was first introduced to the U.S. by Rafi Ron, president of New Age Security Solutions and former security director for Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.

Miami-Dade Police officers stationed at MIA have been using BPR since January 2006, but this is the first time at a U.S. airport that civilian employees will be trained.
